Active members of the SFPA should have already received the .pdf version of Star*Line 41.2 featuring the artwork of Likhain on the cover “Strumming to Cloud and Moon.” This is a particularly special cover for the SFPA, but we’ll see if you can guess why!
This quarter’s issue was edited by Vince Gotera and features 91 poems from around the world as we continue to celebrate our 40th anniversary, including work by Speculative Poetry Grand Master David C. Kopaska-Merkel and this year’s judge for the 2018 Speculative Poetry Contest, John W. Sexton. Our thanks to everyone who sent their work in for consideration!
This issue also includes illustrations by Denny E. Marshall, and Christina Sng, the winner of the 2018 Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Poetry Collection. Herb Kauderer discusses recent news from the small presses, while Denise Dumars discusses “Stealth SF * Flying Blind.” and finally, Shouko Izuo discusses “XenoPoetry: Japanese Scifaiku and Tanka” (translated by Natsumi Ando) .
If you haven’t received your copy yet, please let our membership director know. Your physical copies should be arriving by the end of April along with your copies of the Rhysling anthologies. Thanks for all of your support!
